Five experts, one partnership: from maternity cover to the board room.
Since 2024, a group of Dazzle experts has worked alongside Marelli’s in-house sustainability team: on Scope 3 and SBTi, supplier engagement, the EU Taxonomy, CDP, board reporting and double materiality.
The situation
Marelli is a global automotive technology supplier, with lighting, electronics, propulsion and thermal systems, operating across Europe, Asia and the Americas. It wanted to strengthen its sustainability strategy in several areas at once, including Scope 3 reporting and EU Taxonomy alignment. The in-house team needed expert help with complex reporting, supplier engagement and board updates, and coordinating all of that expertise internally was difficult.
Our approach
Dazzle put together a group of independent experts who work alongside Marelli’s internal team, each on their own topic:
- Maternity cover. Lakshmi stepped into the team from March 2024, so the work kept moving during a colleague’s leave.
- Scope 3, SBTi and supplier engagement. Nalise supported Scope 3 reporting, SBTi target-setting and supplier engagement.
- CDP and climate risk. Nalise also led the CDP response and worked on climate risk.
- EU Taxonomy. Caterina supported Marelli on EU Taxonomy compliance.
- Board reporting. Annamaria built a blueprint for board presentations on sustainability.
- Double materiality. Valentina supported the 2026 double materiality assessment.
The outcome
Flexible, ongoing sustainability support across several functions, without new headcount. Stronger in-house capability on Scope 3 and SBTi, better supplier engagement and clearer board-level reporting. On CDP: A- for both Climate Change and Water Security, with around 50% less effort for the team. The collaboration continues.
